Jubilee Fair. Detailed description below.

“View of the Jubilee Fair in Hyde Park; in foreground to left a small stage erected with a band playing and jesters performing, a small crowd stands in front, a few tents in central foreground with signs such as “Duke of Wellington Whitbreads Intire”, and on a lamp “Dancing and Singing Here”; beyond a crowd stands by river bank watching a sham sea fight, many sailing ships on water with smoke billowing from the scene, on the opposite river bank the fair continues.”–British Museum online catalogue.

King Henry VIII leads Anne Boleyn towards the throne. A melancholy Cardinal Wolsey leans his head in his hand as he glances sideways toward the couple. In the background Katherine of Aragon sitting in another throne and turns away from the couple to converse with Anne’s former lover, Lord Percy. A young page carries the train of Anne’s dress as she enters the palace.

Two oval images printed against a patterned background with a stylized floral border. The image on the top shows Tippoo Sahib’s wife, mother of his two sons as she kneels outside a tent on a rug; she embraces her one son as the other son stands behind him. Tipu Sultan stands in the background with a woman servant(?). In the image below, the young boy his handed over by his father (left) to Cornwallis (right) with the British camp in the background. Soldiers flank Cornwallis; the Sultan is attend by two of his men. The title of the top image is engraved in a legend on the left; the legend on the right continues the title of the image on the bottom.
