Breastfeeding Supports:

  • WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program:
    • For mothers who are currently enrolled in the WIC program or are interested in enrolling, please call 203-535-3824 or call their local WIC office
    • Most WIC staff are trained in breastfeeding and can also help
  • Complete Lactation Care:
    • To schedule an appointment you can call 203-688-MILK (6455)
    • Mothers have the option to be seen at the Yale New Haven Hospital on the 8th Floor, Branford, or Telehealth
    • Most insurances accepted
  • YNHH Breastfeeding Support Group:
    • This free support group welcomes all breastfeeding moms. A lactation consultant facilitates the group and provides guidance. Moms are invited to attend as many weekly sessions as they wish.
    • Groups are available at 10:00am on Thursdays at 150 Sargent Dr, New Haven and at 5:00pm on Tuesdays at 144 North Main St., Branford

  • Mocha Milkshake Cafe:
    • A free virtual breastfeeding support group run by Earth’s Natural Touch Certified Lactation Counselors. Groups are on Saturdays at 10am. This is a safe, supportive space to learn, share, and decompress with other parents, and birth and lactation professionals about breastfeeding.

  • Global Health Media:
    • Many short videos in a variety of languages on topics in breastfeeding (latch, expression, etc.

    • For mothers who identify as BIPOC and utilizer either WIC or Medicaid.
