Re-Using and Incorporating Asynchronous Activities to Create Stand-alone Self-study Resource Reserve

The topic for Instructional Innovation Workshop Grant 2021 is Lessons learned from the pandemic, and the focus of it was on collaboratively reflecting on the pedagogical changes necessitated by the remote environment and how these might affect your pedagogical practices going forward.
I had the privilege to be selected to take part in the IIW 2021 where we could explore what understandings we might have gained that may impact your teaching as you return to the face-to-face classroom.
The workshop consisted of three days of synchronous activities, with lectures by invited speakers, small-group discussions, and brief final presentations by each participant, and two days of asynchronous activities for project work and individual consultation.

My proposal was titled: Re-Using and Incorporating Asynchronous Activities to Create Stand-alone Self-study Resource Reserve.

The main goal of this project is to investigate optimum strategies for creating an online asynchronous reserve of self-study material for Levantine Arabic. This reserve is a resource that is meant to help students at Yale who are interested in Levantine Arabic. It will help them learn, practice, and master Levantine Arabic in an individual, self-pacing way without necessarily being tied to class offerings.
