The Center describes the goals behind this institute as follows:

  • Examine principles of how people learn and apply them to teaching
  • Identify assessment strategies to strengthen connections between student learning and course assignments
  • Identify and refine components of classes that can be made more inclusive
  • Identify strategic actions to strengthen the culture of teaching and learning at Yale

The Institute also provided time and space to design classroom materials.

It was also a wonderful opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the campus.
