Assessments

Family: Parents’ Love and Understanding

The following tools are used to assess students’ assignments, activities and projects.

Formative assessment incorporating ACTFL Integrated Performance assessment (IPA) : Evaluate student performance in vocabulary and grammar learning, their ability to interpret the meaning of the materials, and monitor their progress and improvement during the discussions, pair work and group activities.

Summative assessment: Use a rubric to evaluate writing assignments, presentations and videos based on language use (vocabulary, grammar, mechanics, pronunciation and fluency), content, organization, communication, and cultural knowledge.

Peer-to-peer reviews and editing: Provide feedback on writing assignments, comment on online discussions, and review interview question drafts.

Writing self-reflections on interviews and in a personal journal. This allows students to reflect on and assess their progress, determine if they have achieved their learning goals, and identify areas for improvement both in class and beyond.
