Qi Yan graduated from the School of Life Sciences, Tsinghua University as a student in the Tsinghua Xuetang Program. She is now a student in C&M Physiology department at Yale University. Qi is interested in measuring and manipulating membrane tension. She likes writing novels, reading comics, and drawing in her spare time.

Qi Yan has recently been selected as the 2024-2025 McDougal Career Fellow at the Yale Office of Career Strategy. In this role, she will be organizing career workshops, job treks, and other professional development events aimed at supporting Yale STEM PhD students and postdocs in their career exploration and skill development. Through her efforts, Qi is committed to helping her peers navigate diverse career paths and enhance their professional opportunities.
