Gardens & Bugs At The YCBA!
Families participating in the Exploring Artism Program on Saturday, June 21, looked at Eileen Hogan’s large landscape UL 238, FH 172, and FR 59 (Beehives) from 2008.
After looking at Hogan’s painting, participants stood like trees with arms as branches and cast shadows on the floor similar to the cast shadows in the painting.

Back in the classroom, participants glued tissue paper layers to create their own garden. Thinking about the beehives that Hogan included in her painting, participants added their choice of bug “homes” into their “gardens.”
