Code-named Jellyfish for its colorful laser lines and the tentacle-like appearance of the tubing and cables, this home-built setup consists of a powerful microscope capable of both conventional fluorescence imaging and single-molecule-based superresolution imaging (STORM/(f)PALM), and a multi-channel fluidic system for automated chromatin tracing and multiplexed error robust fluorescence in situ hybridization (MERFISH), techniques to image numerous genomic loci or RNA species in a single cell. We look forward to many exciting discoveries with this setup!
The second of Jellyfish-class microscopes, code-named Nautilus, will be launched in 2018.
