Library Databases and Internships – What to know
The Business & Management Librarian Team receives inquiries from students participating in internships or other experiential learning projects about using library databases over the summer. However, our licensing agreements with our partner vendors include restrictions on how and when our library resources may be used. Yale affiliates are responsible for ensuring that their use complies with the publishers’ license agreements with Yale University.

Librarians will be available over the summer to answer your questions, discuss search strategies, and recommend resources – please don’t hesitate to contact us!
Library Resources and Graduation from SOM
As you prepare for graduation from Yale School of Management, your eligibility for library services will change as you transition from student to alumnus.
In most cases, access to e-resources (including databases) provided by the library is contractually limited to currently enrolled Yale University students, faculty, and staff. Graduating students will retain remote/VPN access to our online resources through October 1, 2024. Learn more here.
Some notable exceptions:
- LSEG Workspace accounts for graduating students will expire on May 31, 2024
- Bloomberg.com accounts will expire on May 31, 2024.
- Capital IQ accounts for graduating students will remain active through August 31, 2024 (with VPN)
- As alumni, access to Mergent Online, Mergent Intellect, and GoinGlobal is available at https://guides.library.yale.edu/somalumni. This site is password-protected. Please contact the Business and Management Librarians for the most current password.
- All Yale alumni can also register for free access to JSTOR and Hein Online. Register for access here.
Service Update RESOLVED: Advertising Age is Temporarily Unavailable
As of Thursday, January 25 2024, campus-wide access to Advertising Age has been restored. Existing users can log into their accounts and new users can register for an account by following the steps listed here. Please visit Please contact business.reference@yale.edu with any questions.
Library access to Advertising Age is currently unavailable. We are currently working with the vendor to have access restored and will post updates as soon as we have more information.
