“One of the earliest forms of writing, and something we still use extensively today, is ink. The origins of ink can be traced back to ancient Asia and is well known to have been historically used with a brush. Ink has been a large part of many Asian cultures throughout history, in our scriptures, paintings, and our way of life, so this design is an inky brush stroke meant to encompass those many cultures here at Yale. “
