Founded on September 15, 2023, Asian Faculty Association at Yale (AFAY) is a group of over 200 Yale faculty members dedicated to promoting the active contributions of its members to the mission and core values of Yale University. AFAY membership is open to Yale faculty members of all tracks and all ranks, regardless of ethnic background. To join us, please email siyuan.wang_at_yale.edu.

AFAY 2024 New Year Party was successfully held. AFAY President Prof. Qin Yan summarized our efforts and achievements since the establishment of AFAY last September, and the challenges our community still faces. Yale Vice Provost Prof. Gary Desir and Yale School of Medicine Deputy Dean Prof. Darin Latimore spoke in support of AFAY. Statement from President Joe Biden on the 80th Anniversary of the Repeal of the Chinese Exclusion Act. AFAY helped revise and co-signed an open letter led by United Chinese Americans (UCA) calling for this statement.

DEC 7, 2023

Reception at the Provost’s House. There will be a Celebration of Asian Faculty at Yale on Tuesday, October 3rd at 11:30am at the Provost’s House. Please email siyuan.wang_at_yale.edu for the registration link. Registration will close on September 28th.

Break Bread Together. On Oct 17 at 12-1pm, there will be a cultural food tasting event featuring a table of Asian food from AFAY at Harkness Lounge (367 Cedar Street).
