I was born in Hanoi (Vietnam). After finishing high school (Chu Van An and Hanoi-Amsterdam), I went to Hungary and received my Bachelor at Etvos Univ. in Budapest (1994). I obtained PhD at Yale (1998) under the direction of L. Lovasz.
Currently, I hold the Percey F. Smith chair of mathematics at Yale University, after spending time at IAS, Microsoft Research, UC San Diego and Rutgers.
Honors: Sloan Fellows (2002), Polya Prize (2008), Fulkerson Prize (2012).
