Additional Accessibility Classes Added

With the launch of the new university-wide accessibility policy in March, ITS′s accessibility team continues to offer training opportunities for staff to learn how to create compliant web content. You can check their training page to learn about upcoming sessions as they are scheduled. You can also email the accessibility team at accessibility@yale.edu  if you would like to get onto their email list.  The list provides announcements for upcoming training opportunities and provides a channel to support needs beyond the sessions scheduled.

 

Developer Brownbag

The accessibility team is organizing regular brownbag lunches for developers to learn about how to implement accessibility best practices. To be notified of future brownbag events, please contact the accessibility team at accessibility@yale.edu.

The first accessibility brownbag held was on Monday, April 2, the topic was “A Gentle Introduction to Accessibility at Yale.” If you missed it, you can download the session slides A NetID is required.

 

Content Editors Workshop

This class will cover the basics of website accessibility, as well as the actions you can take to improve or create an accessible website. Topics include link text, image text, heading structure, and imagery. This class is recommended to anyone who works on a Yale website in some capacity, or for those with an interest in accessibility.
