The South Asian Studies Council is pleased to welcome all participants to the Federalism in South Asia Conference, held at the Henry R. Luce Hall from 26-28 April 2019.

This workshop will bring leading experts to Yale to examine different aspects of federalism, from federalism’s role in conflict management, the strength of federal institutions, the evolving federal party systems, federalism and inequality, to fiscal federalism. Especially given the elections in Pakistan, and the upcoming national elections in India this April and May, this seems an opportune moment for us to take stock, as well as to look forward to how federal institutions will evolve in the future.
