Conexiones Mentorship Program

 

img_5900Conexiones is MEChA’s  mentorship program for Latinx high school students in the New Haven area, now in its fourth year.

This program pairs Latinx High School students with a Yale Latinx students, in which mentees receive one on one mentoring , as well as attend group sessions twice a month. These group sessions will be centered on different themes aimed at empowering the high school students, helping them with college access, and developing their social and political consciousness.

The program has group sessions Saturdays (starting January, 2019) from 10am-11:30am at La Casa (301 Crown Street). The individual sessions between mentors and mentees will be fixed according to their schedules, and will occur twice a month. These individual sessions are meant to create a strong personal relationship between the mentors and mentees, and can range from tutoring to simply hanging out.
