Tips for Mapping Assignments
While detail and interactivity can make for a more engaging final product, don’t overcomplicate the map or overuse interactive components.
Combine geographical data with other search terms to allow for more powerful searches: by tags, content type, age, or other fields.
Think about what is the best way to display this data, and how to structure the search to further the educational goals of the project? How will people be using this map? What kind of connections should they be able to uncover? Begin from the user’s perspective and build from there.
