Welcome to the WordPress faculty demo site which is using the Author theme.  Although WordPress is typically considered a blogging platform, it does allow for static page creation to present content.  An advantage of using WordPress, is that a site can be customized from within a web browser with basic knowledge and minimal effort.  Content can be created and updated by logging in and using the simple editor.

You can also apply a variety of different themes to customize your site (this example is using the Author theme), and enable plugins for additional features, such as maps, bibliographies, forms, and social network links.
