Event: Turkish Night

Description: The second annual Yale Turkish Night event. There is going to be a lot of authentic Turkish food and a live band performing throughout the night. The dance floor will be open all night as DJ will play various Turkish songs. There will be no cover fee. Our goal is to continue the Turkish Night tradition introducing the Turkish culture to the Yale Community and enhancing international interaction at Yale.

Description: TYGS and the Yale Friends of Turkey organized a reception to celebrate Republic Day. Turkish students and Scholars of Yale came together to share Turkish food and to honor the day that Turkey became a republic.
Event: Fundraising Night

Description: TYGS organized its first event in an effort to help victims of the earthquake that took place in Van, Turkey on October, 23rd. Turkish Night, a fundraising event, hosted at GPSCY on December 10th, drew over 200 people and raised more than $1500, to be donated to the victims of the earthquake through Red Crescent (Kizilay) in Turkey. Many local businesses generously supported the fundraising by donating gift certificates to be given away to our guests at Turkish Night event.

Description: October 29th is celebrated in Turkey as a Republic Day. TYGS organized a reception for the occasion together with Yale Friends of Turkey. The event provided a great opportunity for many Turkish students and Scholars at Yale to meet for the first time.
Event: Mediterranean Night

Description: TYGS organized Mediterranean Night on February 26th 2011 together with French, Greek, Jewish, Italian and Spanish student associations at Yale University. More than 200 people showed up for the event. Our guests had a unique chance to learn about different mediterranean cultures, cuisine and music throughout the night.
