Jaehoo was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. He graduated Seoul National University where he worked on the total synthesis of quinine and quinidine with Professor David Yu-Kai Chen. After graduation, he moved to Yonsei University and worked with Professor Sarah Yunmi Lee on Cu-catalyzed asymmetric C(sp)-C(sp3) coupling. Outside of chemistry, he likes playing piano and riding a bike.
