Welcome to Bridges ESL!

Bridges ESL (English as a Second Language) is a non-profit volunteer organization sponsored by Yale University’s Dwight Hall and Asian American Cultural Center that provides free small-group English tutoring to immigrants and internationals in the New Haven community. The program offers several levels of instruction depending on each student’s needs. Founded in 2003, we have proudly served our community for over 20 years.

Mission Statement

Bridges ESL provides free English language lessons to adult learners in the Greater New Haven area. Tutors develop personalized lessons to help meet students’ language goals related to employment, education, citizenship, and daily life. Bridges ESL helps people acquire the English skills necessary to confidently navigate family, work, and community life in the U.S.
