My interests revolve around improving the science education experience for undergraduates and high school students by creating and disseminating courses that are grounded in the principles of Scientific Teaching. Scientific Teaching uses classroom instructional methods, validated through educational research, to result in student learning. In particular, the focus of many of my activities has revolved around developing courses that provide an authentic research experience, rather than one with a known outcome.
