With the support of the Amy Rossborough Fellowship, Carolina and Ilana launched the Summer Science Research Institute (SSRI) this summer. SSRI brought thirteen New Haven high school students to Yale science labs, conducting research and participating in weekly workshops to develop their knowledge and skills. SSRI paired the high school students with Yale undergraduate mentors, who provided guidance and feedback. A large number of the students are continuing to work in the labs during the academic year, and one SSRI participant is being listed as a co-author on an article based on her summer research.
