Welcome!

Yale Amnesty International is the Yale chapter of a Nobel Prize-winning grassroots activist human rights organization with over a million members worldwide. Amnesty International is dedicated to freeing prisoners of conscience, gaining fair trials for political prisoners, ending torture, political killings and disappearances, and abolishing the death penalty throughout the world.

We maintain an active presence on campus, with awareness campaigns, discussion panels, movie screenings, letter-writing sessions, and other activities. We are always open to new topics and ideas for action. Every week we send letters asking for the release of prisoners of conscience and host petitions at different dining halls during Tuesday dinner, where we typically get 200 signatures per week.

We are a member of the Social Justice Network, one of the primary branches of Dwight Hall, Yale’s Center for Public Service and Social Justice. Through our connections with Dwight Hall, we gain a great community of activist groups and community roots, as well as a wonderful meeting space.

Our weekly meeting is held in Dwight Hall’s Social Justice Network (SJN) Room on Tuesdays at 8:00 pm. We hope to see you there!
