Students reflect on visit to the Beinecke Library | Yale University Center for Language Study

A session organized in August 2017 for the students of ARB 120, focusing on the Arabic script and its changes over time and in various formats. Items were drawn from the collections of the Beinecke, Manuscripts & Archives, and the general collections of Sterling Memorial Library and ranged from 10th-century Quran leaves in the Kufic script to printed posters and pressbooks from mid-20th-century Egyptian cinema. The blog post linked here includes two videos made by the students showcasing selected items on display.
