My name is Kyle Armstrong, and I am a student at Central Connecticut State University studying History Secondary Education. I am excited to be working as an intern for the Yale Indian Papers Project and to finally discover just what the field of history is like outside the classroom. This is a great opportunity for me to expand my knowledge of Native American studies as I look to find new ways to incorporate previously overlooked topics in the high school classroom. History has always been a passion of mine, and I have found Native American history particularly interesting. I plan on using the skills acquired working with YIPP with both my future students and my goal of completing graduate school. When not working at YIPP or studying at CCSU I can be found boring my friends with useless historical trivia or reading science fiction from the 1970s, which if asked I will ardently describe as being the best decade for the genre.
