With great sadness, the board of directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 U.S. Grant summer program. To help limit the spread of the coronavirus, social distancing guidelines will remain in place in New Haven and across Connecticut, and Yale University makes clear that gatherings on campus will remain severely restricted through the summer months. This leaves us with little choice. We don’t take this decision lightly; our beloved program has served New Haven students without interruption for nearly 70 years, and we deeply regret not being able to continue the U.S. Grant tradition this summer.
We know that many of you were eagerly anticipating a summer of learning, community, and fun as participants in U.S. Grant.
While there is no replacing the experience of the Grant program, the board is exploring the possibility of offering some form of limited virtual programming. To help inform these discussions, we ask that all families complete this survey to indicate your child’s interest in and capacity to take advantage of such an opportunity. We will provide updates about this possibility to interested families by early June.
