The U.S. Grant Foundation is currently seeking two motivated, organized undergraduates to be the 2022 Co-Directors.

  • During the academic year, the Co-Directors are paid for 10 hours of work per week at $15.00/hour.

Outline of main responsibilities:

  1. During the summer program, the Co-Directors work 40 hours per week for 7 weeks. They are paid $4000 over the summer. The position is one year and begins in January 2023 and ends December 2023.
  2. The Directors are supervised by the Chair of the Board of Directors and work closely with her on a regular basis. The Directors work with the board to recruit and hire a staff undergraduates to work as Grant teachers.
  3. The Directors work with the board and volunteers to plan a teacher training program for the Grant staff.
  4. The Directors support the staff by providing guidance in developing curriculum, lesson planning and working with students and their families. This includes attending weekly professional development with all of the teachers during the program.
  5. The Directors supervise staff members to ensure that they are fulfilling their responsibilities.
  6. The Directors organize the logistics of the summer program, from maintaining budgets to organizing field trips and free time, overseeing the distribution of city lunches to managing attendance.
  7. The Directors, as the leaders of the program, motivate Grant teachers and students to perform at their best. To achieve this, the Directors will work in conjunction with Grant teachers, students and parents to fairly resolve issues and conflict.
  8. The Directors are responsible for the production of several documents, such as budget reports, teacher training schedule, teacher resource guide, and the annual report.
  9. The Directors serve as a liaison between Grant, the board, and Yale. To that end, the Directors attend the bi-monthly Board meetings to report on the program.
