Are you interested in working with talented Yale undergrads, an experienced board of educational professionals, and amazing New Haven middle school students WHILE GETTING PAID FOR IT?

We are thrilled to share a fantastic paid opportunity for the upcoming summer where you will have the opportunity to design and oversee a six-week educational summer program for New Haven middle schoolers! The Ulysses S. Grant Foundation is currently seeking two Co-Directors to join our team for a summer of unforgettable memories with amazing kids and even better co-workers. Become a part of a 70-year-old tradition committed to fostering equitable, enriching, and enjoyable academic experiences.

As a Co-Director, you will collaborate with experienced educators on the U.S. Grant Board to create an engaging summer program for highly motivated middle school students from New Haven public and parochial schools. Your role will involve hiring and leading a cohort of other talented Yale undergraduates who will serve as your teaching staff for the program, as well as coordinating the logistics of the program. This will include scheduling field trips of your choosing, planning spirit week, and designing the end-of-program yearbook for your students to take home at the end of the summer!

Having personally experienced the role of Co-Director, we can attest to the immense fulfillment this meaningful opportunity offers. Crafting U.S. Grant’s programming and curriculum, in partnership with an outstanding teaching team has deepened our understanding of collaboration, learning, and leadership and enhanced our teaching skills. Additionally, engaging with board members, community members, and students has broadened our knowledge and love for New Haven, extending beyond the confines of the Yale Bubble. And, let’s not forget the joy of teaching middle schoolers – an incredibly rewarding and enjoyable experience.
