Data

If you are using data from TAM, please cite Lora et al. (2015) and the relevant paper(s).

The following is a list (not necessarily exhaustive) of links to data associated with publications involving TAM. Most of these are links to Zenodo (or similar) data archives where TAM simulation output is hosted. The associated publications are listed in the table, along with the model configuration used.

Simulation outputCSV files containing methane storm and storm clusters from simulation output. This record also includes a python notebook for loading/viewing the data.Coupled HydrologyOlim et al. (2025)
Simulation outputNetCDF files containing simulation ouput using the SVRS product. The data include temperature, zonal and meridional winds, and all terms used to compute the full heat and zonal momentum budgets.Middle AtmosphereLombardo & Lora (2023b)
Simulation outputNetCDF files containing simulation output using the SVRS product. The data include zonal means of the simulated zonal and meridional winds, temperature, and meridional mass stream function from the surface through the lower mesosphere.Middle AtmosphereLombardo & Lora (2023a)
Simulation outputNetCDF file containing composite convective storm events, as described in Battalio & Lora (2021b). The longitude of each event is independently rotated so that the meridian of highest precipitation is centered at 0. The dataset contains numerous composited variables (described further in the data archive).Coupled HydrologyBattalio & Lora (2021b)
Simulation outputNetCDF file containing 20 Titan years simulation output used to calculate Titan’s baroclinic and barotropic annular modes.  The dataset contains:  pressure-averaged eddy kinetic energy (EKEpres), surface pressure (ps),  zonal-mean eddy kinetic energy (EKEzonal), zonal-mean zonal wind (Uzonal), zonal-mean eddy momentum flux (mFluxzonal), and zonal-mean eddy heat flux (tFluxzonal), along with Tsol (timestep), pressure, latitude, and longitude.Coupled HydrologyBattalio & Lora (2021a)
Simulation outputNetCDF files containing the final 20 Titan years of simulation output for each of the five experiments with different permeabilities (k) as described in Faulk et al. (2020). These are the original runs with the coupled hydrology configuration of TAM.Coupled HydrologyFaulk et al. (2020)

SVRS datasetTitan Seasonally Varying Radiative Species (SVRS) dataset, which consists of netCDF files containing trace gas abundances and aerosol opacity through a full Titan year, providing a single source of seasonal-scale climatological information on Titan’s radiatively active species from the troposphere through the stratopause.  The dataset interpolates between measurements from individual Cassini flybys of Titan where trace gas abundance and aerosol opacity were determined, and includes C2H6, C2H4, C2H2, p-C3H4, C4H2, HCN, and HC3N as well as haze.Lombardo & Lora (2023a)
Surface properties mapsAscii files containing surface thermal inertia classification maps described in MacKenzie et al. (2019) at right and used as input for TAM.MacKenzie et al. (2019)
