How do I sign up to audition?
You will have an opportunity to sign up at a number of different events: Extracurricular Bazaar, SAS Showcase, and Samosas with Surs. If you miss these events, no worries — you can email suretveritaal@gmail.com and we will find a time that works for you.
What will I be expected to do in my audition?
1) Basic vocal warm-ups to test your range
2) Solo of your choice — any genre, any language!
We want to make these auditions as fun as possible for you, so just relax and enjoy yourself! We are looking forward to meeting you and seeing how your unique voice will fit into our group.
Looking to audition as a beatboxer? We will still do some vocal warmups with you, but will ask you to beatbox for us in lieu of a solo.
Is it ok if I’m not South Asian/don’t know a South Asian language?
Absolutely! There is no requirement for being in this group other than a desire to have fun while making great music! Regardless of your background, we will help you work your way up to soloing in different languages through your time with the group.
How much experience is expected of me?
None! Our members range from the classically trained to those who only sang in the shower before joining Surs.
