Welcome to my web site! I am the Nilekani Professor of India and South Asian Studies and Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at Yale University, where I teach Comparative Politics. I am also currently serving in a couple of administrative roles, as Henry R. Luce Director of the Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies (2019-) and as Vice Provost for Global Strategy (2022-). Before taking on these current roles at Yale I served as Acting Dean of the FAS Social Science Division and before that as Chair of the Political Science department from 2014-19. I taught previously at the University of Chicago and at Duke University.

You can find more information about my research, my courses, graduate study at Yale and some information about me on this site. If you are a prospective graduate student interested in Yale’s political science department and working with me, please read my advice for applicants, and feel free to email me.
