In an attempt to be fully prepared for creating and designing the first Yale online language acquisition course (Levantine Arabic) I had the pleasure of enrolling in the Distant Language Teaching Program; a full year program offered by the CLS. The goals of this year long program is to familiarize participants with current trends in online teaching and learning, provide practical training in synchronous and asynchronous technologies, and train with technological skills to meet the changing demands of language teaching in the 21st century.
