Enhancing intercultural communication for Arabic Language Classes via the use of telecollaboration

May of 2018, I had the pleasure of being awarded the Instructional Innovation Workshop Grant.

The project had a two-fold goal. The main goal of this project was to investigate opportunities, and resources to help secure providing students of Arabic with native language partners for each semester and for the duration of the semester with a manner that is both consistent and that conforms with the curriculum at hand is for the students to learn, practice enhance and master their language ability.

The second aspect of the project goals was to explore, identify, and design tasks and activities that the students and their partners are to complete over the course of one semester in a way that has a clear focus on culture, conforms to the curriculum being taught and a way that guarantees optimum cultural as well as language gains.

The culmination of this project was to incorporateĀ telecollaboration with Natakallam (read more here)
