Natarajan is invested in inter-disciplinary scholarship and with her graduate training and intellectual background in the history and philosophy of science, she has been involved in several projects that bridge the divide between science and the humanities at Yale and beyond.

Along with Michael della Rocca (Yale Philosophy) and Denys Turner (Yale, Religious Studies) she co-organized a conference titled Why is there anything in the Universe? .

She is also deeply interested in the creative process in art and see profound connections in the making of art and the doing of science. She has collaborated with artists on projects over the years.
