Discovery of UHZ1 by JWST and Chandra – evidence for the formation of heavy black hole seeds from direct collapse of gas in the early Universe

JWST and Chandra detection of the distant source UHZ1 that contains an actively accreting supermassive black hole in place when the Universe was ~ 470 Myr olds provides compelling evidence for existence of heavy black hole seeds formed via direct collapse of gas in the very early Universe as predicted by Natarajan and collaborators.
