All iPads are covered under the AppleCare+ extended warranty which includes accidental damage insurance.

If for any reason an iPad becomes damaged, the patron should report it to the agreed upon contact (faculty member, ITS or Library staff) outlined in the terms of use document.  Upon receiving the damaged iPad from the patron, a Bass Library Access Services staff member will checkout a new iPad to the patron with the understanding that any data on the damaged iPad may not be recoverable.  The damaged iPad will then go through the proper channels for repair (e.g., carry-in support at the Apple Store, mail-in support, or on-site repair via an Apple-certified staff member).   Once the repair has been complete, the iPad can be recirculated to the patron or kept in inventory.
