The detailed accounts book for a one year period, Easter 1769 to Easter 1770, begins with Charles Grignion’s letter of appointment as church warden, signed by all the church wardens. Included in the accounts are detailed lists of money received and spent by the busy, inner city parish for: funerals, maintenance of fire engines and clocks, salaries for clergy, fees for laundry services, land taxes, payments to the poor, etc.
