Please find below a schedule of presentations for the Fall 2020 semester, “Presence.” We will meet on these Thursdays from 1-2pm EST on Zoom. All are welcome. Hope to see you there!
- Co-conveners Elise Morrison and Kimberly Jannarone have chosen to focus our presentations and readings around the topic of “Presence” –– a theme we landed on, believe it or not, before the pandemic radically changed our relationship to so many co-present activities. As will become evident through the range of presentations offered this semester, we are approaching the notion of Presence quite broadly.
- This concept invites inquiry into our suddenly increased reliance on virtual representation and engagement in performance, pedagogy, and politics during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also supports our ongoing efforts to engage in dialogues about systemic racism in our institutions and embodied experiences.
- Meeting links will be sent out weekly via the Performance Studies at Yale mailing list. Please contact Michael Breslin (michael.breslin@yale.edu) with any questions regarding Zoom access.
