  1. CT and MRI imaging are much more accessible in the capital of Rwanda, Kigali, compared to the rural areas of Rwanda, as transportation to the capital from those rural areas is a barrier. It can take three hours to transport a patient from rural areas to the city if such imaging is required. Patients may have Mutuelle Insurance which covers some medical costs, but may have to pay for procedures and some imaging out of pocket.
