About GCRE 2019

Welcome to the official website of GCRE 2019: Exploring Energy. Hosted annually at Yale University, the Graduate Conference in Religion and Ecology is a unique academic venue showcasing graduate and professional research on the intersections of environmental ethics and moral worldviews.

This year’s theme, Exploring Energy, partners with Yale Environmental Humanities and its 2018-19 initiative to explore energy–oil, coal, wind, solar–with human culture. In response to circulated Call for Papers, submissions poured in from students throughout the world to present at this collaborative platform offered by the GCRE community.

Keynote Speakers include Dr. Erin Lothes, Catholic theologian and energy ethicist, and Kehkashan Basu, Founder of Green Hope and Winner of the 2016 International Children’s Peace Prize.
