Hans Lind, PHD YSS Instructor

Hans Jochen Lind joined YSS as instructor in 2015. He previously taught as a Lecturer at the University of Constance (Germany) and at the University of Vienna (Austria). He holds a Ph.D. in German Studies from Yale University and a law degree from the University of Tübingen.

His research focusses on 18th to 21st century culture (law, literature, theatre, opera, film), comparative literature, Law & Literature, media theory and media aesthetics, contemporary literature, 21st century street culture, Jewish-German exile writing, critical theory, multilingualism/multiculturalism, translation, and global and ‘glocal’ idea transfers. He is currently writing his second book, “Law’s Rococo Style,”  and also most recently edited “Fictional Discourse and the Law” (Routledge, 2020).
