Abstract
It is widely accepted that Chinese characters create one of the greatest challenges for both teachers and learners of Chinese. How to promote student development and application of literacy skills in Chinese? How does Chinese character teaching keep pace with the times when computers and mobile devices offer many ways to input Chinese characters? Our renowned speakers will share their researches and experience on these topics and discuss the Character teaching objectives, skills training steps, and evaluation methods in the digital era. By attending this workshop, instructors will gain renewed perspectives on teaching Characters in their class and become more confident in teaching. They will also have opportunities to reflect on and exchange with others their own methods of teaching Chinese Characters.
