Custom Domains

Posted in Guide

Do you have a custom domain? Would you rather visitors landed at mygreatsite.org instead of campuspress.yale.edu/mygreatsite? This can be accomplished with a Super Admin tool called Domain Map. While, as a site administrator, you can’t access this tool, you can request that your custom domain point to the site on CampusPress.

Unlike redirection, a domain map will keep the url static throughout the site, visitors will not see the CampusPress url. Redirects, on the other hand, take a site visitor from one URL to another. If you are looking to redirect a page or pages on your CampusPress site consider Safe Redirect Manager plugin.

To request a domain map record on your CampusPress site contact campuspress@yale.edu

Provide:

  1. CampusPress site URL
  2. Custom URL you provide from another hosting or domain company.

Once activated, you will be given a record which you provide back to your domain hosting company.
