Presidenta: Sarah Glenski
Sarah is a PhD candidate in Spanish & Portuguese. She was inducted into Sigma Delta Pi as an undergraduate member of the Rho Rho Chapter at Truman State University. Sarah specializes in modern Spanish literature and is currently writing her dissertation on Iberian representations of the Spanish Civil War. She serves as a Graduate Fellow for Language Education at the Yale Center for Language Study.
Vicepresidenta: Zoe Nuechterlein
Zoe is a senior in Hopper double majoring in English (with the Writing Concentration) and Spanish. During Fall 2020, she is spending her LOA working for iCivics, where she often relies on Spanish to translate and create materials for English language learner (ELL) students. At Yale, she runs for the varsity cross country and track teams and edits for the Yale Daily News Magazine.
Secretaria: Laura Clapp
Laura is a senior in Pierson majoring in Urban Studies with an Advanced Language Certificate in Spanish and has studied abroad in Valencia, Spain. She is interested in Spanish and Latin American literature that deals with migration and intersectional identities. Laura has worked as an assistant to an immigration lawyer and an intern at a social services center for the Hispanic community in Westchester County, NY. At Yale, Laura is actively involved in the music scene as both a violinist and singer.
Consejera: Noël Valis
Prof. Valis is a leading scholar in modern Spanish literature. She joined Yale’s Department of Spanish & Portuguese in 1999 and oversaw the founding of Alpha Beta Beta in 2019.
