There are many ways to have your voice heard. These include an anonymous feedback form maintained by the ACDC, departmental town hall meetings, requesting to join specific ACDC general meetings, and several campus resources. This page gives more details about each of these options below.
Departmental Town Hall Meetings
Town Hall Meetings are organized by the ACDC. They are open to all community members, including all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and administrators. Active members of the department are expected to attend.
These meetings will act as the primary venue at which the ACDC and faculty members can interface with the entire community to give updates on projects and solicit feedback. They represent a safe space in which the community can engage in open discussion on the state of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department and the steps being taken to promote it. The ACDC will send out summary notes following every meeting.
The Fall 2023 Town Hall will be held Tuesday, November 28 at 4pm in the KT 5th floor coffee lounge.
Internal ACDC Meetings
The steering committee of ACDC meets during the off-weeks between town halls and special topics meetings. If you are interested in joining ACDC and taking part in steering committee meetings, please email imad.pasha@yale.edu.
Joining the ACDC
Membership in ACDC is open to everyone affiliated with the Yale Astronomy department. We put out a formal call for new members at the beginning of each semester, but new members are always welcome. If you’d like to be a part of the committee, please email imad.pasha@yale.edu. Members are expected to contribute by attending steering committee meetings, carrying out assignments allocated at these meetings, and helping to organize and moderate town halls and special topics meetings.
