FOCUSED PANELS
Our workshop will feature “focused panels” comprising language educators with firsthand experience developing and implementing OER in their classrooms through collaborative efforts. These discussions are designed to spotlight real-classroom applications of OER, offering a practical, valuable learning experience that emphasizes the actionable over the theoretical. We aim to bring together practitioners who have successfully created and utilized OER to provide attendees with directly applicable and readily implementable insights in their teaching contexts.

Hands On Collaboration, followed by Sharing Session
Moderator: Angela Lee-Smith, Yale University
This session stands as the workshop’s pinnacle. Participants actively engage in small groups
to create OER modules through guided, step-by-step applications. Embodying the essence of ‘learning by doing,’ this segment ensures that attendees grasp theoretical concepts and apply them in practice, fostering a deeper understanding and skill set in OER development. The orga- nizing team will prepare and provide the workshop materials.
Participants join their pre-selected groups based on interest. Each group discusses and collab- orates on OER module development, utilizing the provided template. Facilitators circulate to offer guidance, answer questions, and stimulate discussion. Mentors play a key role in working with their peer mentees.
