The “Theater Practicum Model” project is designed to provide an innovative and dynamic model for teaching language through theater. This web site offers materials and guidelines to create an effective language theater course. Teachers and learners will find a detailed handbook divided in five sections (The Choice of the Play; The Work Schedule; The Translation and the Subtitles; Costumes, Set Design, Soundtrack, Publicity; Bibliography); models for creating class activities and homework; samples of said activities carried out by the students for the “Pirandello Theater Practicum” course taught at the Department of Italian Language and Literature (Yale University); and a media gallery with videos of final performances (Henry IV and Six Characters in Search of an Author). All the material is provided both in English and in Italian. The web site is an open source.
