John E. Roemer is the Elizabeth S. and A. Varick Professor of Political Science and Economics. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a Corresponding Member of the British Academy. His research concerns political economy and distributive justice. Active current research topics are inter-generational and inter-regional equity in the presence of climate change, and the micro-foundations of cooperation. His research has been published in journals of economics, political science and philosophy.
