The Global University Climate Forum is a novel approach to engaging, inspiring, and connecting the next generation of climate leaders. There is a powerful and growing movement of college and university students stepping up and calling for climate action. This has the potential to change the course of history, and can be strengthened by transitioning to a model of collective action.
As the knowledge sector, higher education institutions are uniquely qualified to drive innovation, catalyze collaboration, test challenges, and advance transformative change. Hosted in collaboration with local and global partners, the Global Climate Forum will leverage these qualities in a targeted way to inform fresh approaches by student leaders, while highlighting the potential for knowledge exchange, networking, innovation, and best practice sharing between institutions and across geopolitical socioeconomic scales. This program will engage students through a series of online events in November 2020, and conclude with a publication and event during the climate COP in November 2021.
