 ► Where do I find my clicker ID?

Your clicker ID is a six-digit alfa-numberic string found on the back of your clicker under the clicker barcode (not to be confused with the Yale Library barcode)

 ► How do I register my clicker for a course?

To register your clicker for a course in classes*v2, find the Clicker Registration link and click Register Response Card under Device ID.  When prompted, enter the six-digit ID found on the back of your clicker into the Device ID text field.  Click the Register button to save.*

*Note that only letters up to F can be entered; no letter Os.If an incorrect ID is entered, an error message will appear and you will need to re-enter the ID.

After successfully entering the clicker ID, the ID will appear under Device ID.  Note that the clicker ID can be edited at any time by clicking the Edit link.

► How do I edit my current clicker ID or register a replacement clicker ID?

It is possible to either edit or enter a new clicker ID at any time by going to the Clicker Registration link under Tool Menu in the course site and clicking on the edit link next to your clicker ID.

► Do I need to register my clicker for more than one course?

No. Entering your clicker ID in one course site will propagate to any and all other course sites that require a clicker registration.

 ► Do I need to checkout more than one clicker if I am taking multiple classes requiring clickers?

No. You only need one clicker, as it will work in all of the Yale College courses that use clickers.

► Do I need to notify my professor once I have registered my clicker?

It is not necessary to notify your instructors once a clicker has initially been registered. If, however, you need to register a new clicker, it is advisable to notify your instructor of the change so it can be imported into the software application.

► How do I register my ResponseWare ID in a Classes*v2 course?

To register your ResponseWare ID for a course in classes*v2, find the eight-digit ID found on the ResponseWare Account Info web page

In Classes*v2 select the Clicker Registration link under the Tool Menu column and enter the eight-digit ResponseWare ID into the Clicker ID field  (in lieu of a clicker ID). Click the Register button to save the ID.*

After successfully entering the ResponseWare device ID, the device ID (in blue) will appear on the page.  Note that the device ID can be edited at any time by clicking the blue ID number.

Faculty Registration

► How do I enable the clicker registration tool in my course site?

To enable the clicker registration tool for any course, select the course of choice and select Site Info from the left-hand menu and click the Edit Tools link.

From the Course Site Tool list check the Clicker Registration box. Click the Continue button at the bottom of the page.

Verify the Clicker Registration tool is listed in the Confirmation page (in red text) and click the Finish button at the bottom of the page to save.

► How do I view the roster of registered students?

To view your clicker ID roster, go to the Clicker Registration link under Navigation Tools
in the course site. A list of all the students and clicker registration status will be displayed.

Also note that once on the roster page, you are able to download the clicker participant list, send email notifications to unregistered users, and manually add or modify clicker IDs.

► Can I add or change a clicker ID in the student roster list?

Yes. Go to the clicker roster page from the Clicker Registration, find the student from the list, and click the corresponding clicker ID.

► Can I notify students who have not registered a clicker?

Yes. The registration tool allows instructors to email all unregistered students with the click of a button.

Go to the clicker roster page from the Clicker Registration link and click the “Send Email to Unregistered Students” button. The email contains an auto-generated response with a link to your course site.

Once the notification email has been sent, a green verification box will appear indicating successful transmission.

 ► How do I download a roster participant list?

A roster participant list can be downloaded by accessing the clicker roster page from the Clicker Registration link in the course site and clicking the “Export Roster in TurningPoint Format” button.

Also note that once on the roster page, your are able to download the participant list, send email notifications to unregistered users and manually add or modify clicker IDs.

 ► Can clicker IDs be recovered if I click the “Purge Clicker IDs” button?

No. Once a clicker ID list is purged, it cannot be recovered and clicker registrations will be deleted from all course sites, including other courses that a student may have a registered clicker. Please note that a warning window will appear asking the instructor to verify a purge by checking a box.
